Check your Email Sender in Account Engagement

Account Engagement Verify Email Sender
May 5th, 2025Account Engagement

Every year, Salesforce makes an upgrade that requires your attention in Account Engagement.

Now is one of those times.

You need to log into Account Engagement and check the Optimizer to see if you have an email template with unverified email senders.

Follow the steps below.

Email Sender Domain Enforcement

As of July 1, 2023, Salesforce required customers to validate at least one email sending domain by adding a DNS validation key, but Salesforce delayed the enforcement of validated domains across all emails to give customers more time to prepare.

Starting May 6, 2025, Salesforce will now enforce a verified email sender domain for all Account Engagement business units. This is a security step to prevent email spoofing.

Account Engagement will not send an email with an unverified email sender.

Validate all email-sending domains associated with campaigns in your Account Engagement business unit to ensure they do not impact your company. Read more in the Salesforce  documentation.

Identify Emails with Unverified Email Senders

Go to Optmizer.  (Account Engagement Settings > Optimizer> Optimizer Home).  Look in “Configuration Issues” to see if you have any email templates with unverified email senders.

If you see a message like the one below, you need to edit the email sender in the email template or delete it.

Find email templates with invalid senders

Salesforce created new tools for the Spring ’25 release to identify and address email send failures.

Email send failures due to invalid sender domains will start May 6, 2025.

Use these tools to identify problematic email templates:

1) Use the Failed Email Sends report to identify email send failures.  It shows information about invalid email addresses, sender domains, missing content, or other reasons. It includes information about the related prospect, when the failure occurred, and why the email failed to send.

  1. Go to  Account Engagement Reports.
  2. Select Marketing Assets >  Emails  > Failed Email Sends.

2) The Account Engagement List Email Report shows the number of failures.

3) The Optimizer shows an alert when errors with the email send are detected.

Verify Account Engagement Email Sender

Need more details?

You can see your verified domain when you go to the domain management section in Account Engagement.  (in image A below)

The email sender (in image B below) dictates how the email will be sent.  The email sender domain (B)  needs to match the verified domain (A).
